Bunny BioEnergy? Rabbits Killed During Cull Heat Homes in Stockholm
Oct/090

In order to protect the trees and shrubs from damage in area parks, thousands of rabbits are culled in Stockholm neighborhoods every year. Last year alone, nearly 6,000 rabbits were killed during the annual cull. The rabbits are shot by specially hired people armed with a “special rifle.” The rabbits are usually killed at the first crack of dawn, as they peek out of their rabbit holes.

PAX 2009: Red Dead Redemption lets you kill … everything
Sep/090
Red Dead Redemption’s promised Wild West sandbox came to life in a build shown off to attendees at PAX over the weekend. One of the first things we noticed is that you can end a life whenever you want. What kind of lives? See a bunny bouncing by? Kablam. Attacked by a wild bear? Kapow. Angry at your horse and want to put him down? Kablang. You can kill literally every living thing in the game and, in some cases, skin them and sell their hides to the furrier in town to make some dough. We doubt he deals in horse skins, however.

Vintage Playboy centerfolds grace Mafia II
Mar/100
It appears mobsters aren’t the only things getting rubbed out in Mafia II, as 2K Games announces it has signed a license agreement with Playboy magazine for the mob saga. The pictorial publication will have over 50 of its “vintage covers and Centerfolds” inside the game when it eventually releases.
The iconic publication first premiered in 1953, so unless the game, which covers the ’40s and ’50s, is rewriting history, the Playboy collectibles won’t show up until the latter part of the game’s story. The magazine apparently won’t merely be window dressing either, as players will have the ability to “collect virtual copies of the iconic magazine” — to read the articles, of course. If you have roommates, we recommend investing in Purell hand wipes. We’re not implying anything, simply “safety first.” It is still flu season, after all.
